Janelle Paris began her dance career in a very unconventional way. In her freshman year of collage as a piano performance major, Janelle got a job as an accompanist for the ballet technique classes. Despite having played piano her whole life, she became instantly fascinated with the beauty and expression of the dance arts. Putting aside traditional schooling Janelle pursued her ambitions and began studying dance anywhere and everywhere she could. Two years later, she was invited to join Ballet Montmartre, a pre-professional ballet company in Newport Beach, CA. She traveled and performed across the country and on a cruise ship. After relocating to AZ, Janelle continued her education, this time as a dance and choreography major at ASU where she received her BFA in Dance. she went on to earn a Master’s in Kinesiology and Biomechanics from Sam Houston State University. Her choreography is well sought after for a variety of projects including musicals, high school dance companies, and numerous valley showcases. Janelle also performs in musicals and has won several awards for her vocal performances. She believes dance is about expression, artistry, taking chances, and learning to accept imperfection.
